Our virtual private server (VPS) solutions are 100% fully managed with an identical level of management provided to that of our fully managed dedicated servers.
The VPS servers have minimum 8GB RAM and 4 x 300GB VelociRaptor drives, powered by either dual Woodcrest or dual Opteron processors (contact us when ordering to discuss preference) running CENTOS (Red Hat Enterprise Linux).

With VPS hosting solutions the main server is set up with a number of ‘virtual’ servers, each one separate and self-contained with guaranteed hardware, RAM and bandwidth allocation so your server is not affected by excess usage by another account on the server. They are in effect junior dedicated servers.
There are 6-8 VPS per server maximum - there is no overselling on our servers. Ascent VPS come with the full complement of features including fully loaded Cpanel and WHM as with our shared hosting plans, making these a very attractive option for those looking for a mid-point between shared hosting and fully dedicated server requirements.
We closely monitor your VPS to pro-actively identify and resolve any hardware issues in order to provide the highest possible levels of uptime and performance. We have physical access to all servers managed by Ascent Hosting, and have spare equipment on hand in order to perform quick replacements on bad hardware if neccessary.
We uses only quality hardware in all our servers, whether dedicated, VPS or shared. Your VPS server is built with Supermicro hardware and are all properly cooled server-quality rack-mounted servers.

Please Note: we do not provide root access to any of our servers. We can not offer and guarantee fully managed hosting while also providing SSH level access to the server.
If root access is essential then we would need to talk it through, though generally no exceptions are made to this rule. You will be able to create WHM accounts, as well as be provided with root WHM access.
